Indiana Youth Institute (IYI), in partnership with the Girl Scouts Coalition of Indiana and Girl Scouts of Indiana, has released the 2026 Indiana Girl Report.
The report highlights data about the experiences, relationships, and opportunities that contribute to positive outcomes for girls while also highlighting areas where additional resources are needed.
In 2025, Indiana’s female graduation rate was 93.2%–the highest rate in the past decade. But it points out a 19-percentage-point gap in broader STEM enrollment, saying girls remain underrepresented in many pathways connected to Indiana’s fastest-growing and highest-paying careers like manufacturing technology, biochemistry, and biophysics. Indiana Youth Institute President and CEO Dr. Tami Silverman says the starting point to raising strong, young women starts at home.
This is the fourth annual report which examines the factors shaping girls’ well-being, including education, mental health, social connection, safety, and economic stability.
