WARSAW — Bikers Against Predators, a group that works to catch adults trying to hook up with youngsters across much of the United States, recently helped Warsaw Police with a local case.
According to a story by the Times-Union, 25-year-old Joshua Jarrett was arrested on May 9, after he attempted to meet with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl on Husky Trail.

Circumstances were prompted by Bikers Against Predators, who set up the meeting using a decoy. The group then alerted police and provided text conversations to police that showed Jarrett conveyed his desire to have sex even though he had been told the object of his desire was 13.
The conversations happened on Grindr and through cell phone texts.
Jarrett instructed the girl to meet him on Husky Trail near a business at night.
The decoy then walked up to meet Jarrett, but he noticed a group of people nearby and walked away.
According to one text message detailed in the court affidavit, Jarrett wrote, “This could get me in trouble but I don’t mind. I am looking to have sex with someone.”
The May 9 sequence was captured on video and posted on a Facebook page used by Bikers Against Predators.
The video continues for more than 45 minutes and includes Jarrett resisting police as they try to confiscate his cell phone.

Jarrett told police that what he was doing was testing youth to determine if their parents had taken necessary steps to make sure they are safe when interacting with strangers. He said he’s done that previously.
The meeting was set up for a spot across the street from Harrison Elementary.
Jarrett is facing a level 5 felony charge of child solicitation and a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement, the Times-Union reports.
resisting law enforcement charge was added after jarrett failed to cooerate in turning over his phone and then pulled away from officers and an officer forcibly removed the phone from Jarrett.
Jarrett indicated that once he knew the decoy was 13, he wanted to “test the theory” and see if her parents taught her about safety.
